Known as the Ajmer of the south, the Ullal darga is of great significance to the Muslims. It is believed that in 1569, Sayyad Mohammad Shariful Madani, who arrived from Madina in Saudi Arabia to Ullal, settled down in the place where the darga now stands and performed supernatural feats such as curing diseases and also gave solace to the poor and the destitute. A tomb was raised over the Saintís grave after his death and the miracles continued. Later the darga was built by his devotees in the year 1958.

Many miracles have been credited to this saint and to this day, people from all communities come to Ullal mosque to seek his blessings. The Ullal darga and Uroos fair is attracting thousands of people from all over India irrespective of religion. This place is located just 10 kms away from Mangalore city.
