Sita falls (Koodlu Theertha) is the falls  in Karnataka, adjacent to the Agumbe ranges. The whole plan of going to this place started with Rajesh and Co. He told me that they were planning a trek and I said without thinking further, “I am in” !

There were around 8 of us and we started from Bangalore at around 11 pm after a lot of last minute hassles of boarding the sumo.

After reaching Augube early morning at around 6:30 am, we started searching for a lodge so that we could freshen up. All of us were excited about the trek. But bad luck followed us there too. Most of the lodges were full that day and after a lot of difficulty and a walk of 1 km we finally found a Travelers Bungalow.

After freshening up and having a heavy breakfast, all of us started our adventurous journey towards Sita falls. The first 1 hour was a jeep trail from Someshwara.

We had to stop Near the stream which flows across from their we had to walk a long distance and more over it was almost a jeep route. But we enjoyed it as we got to see scenic view points, beautiful streams.

The trail became more like a forest trail and it was wet, damp and dense. We had to stop at times so that people behind could catch up. These were the boring times, as you just can’t keep still with so many leeches around and you would invariably start picking and throwing leeches from your foot and by that time a few more would have managed to get on to your other foot.

At the spectacular falls:
So finally we were there – Koodlu Theertha falls at around 2:00 PM. A magnificent sight it was as the River Sita was taking a huge dip in the name of the falls. A few snaps and the entire group of people joined the place and the typical reaction (at first sight) of many was “Wow, this (falls) is amazing and the next moment, they would bend down to pick and throw the leeches away from their foot”. We had a great time gossiping and pulling each other’s legs near the falls... words won’t be enough to explain this beautiful experience.

We got to see a lot of beautiful landscapes and since it was raining the whole week, the whole trip was beautiful with a lot of greenery. Thanks to two of my colleagues who could make it for this trek and this has definitely been an unforgettable trip.

Back to the Agumbe:
It was 4:00 or so and we guys wanted to leave back (as the trek back would take easily 2-2.5 hours) and have to visit Agumbe Sun set Point. On our way back, we didn’t stop much and some heavy rains added flavor to the trek. By 6:00 PM, we were set to get back to the someshwara. We set out to the Agumbe Sun set Point in the Sumo.
